The Research Process begins with questions. Coming up with good questions helps focus your research and leads to more interesting projects, more personal connections, and a greater depth of learning. The Common Core State Standards embed “inquiry” into student learning and changes the way research is done in school. Compare the old-fashioned research project with an inquiry-based one:

Answers to Essential Questions cannot be found, they must be invented.
