For Parents
Parents--Does Your Child Have a Lost Media Center Book?
On May 23, we ask that all students turn in all but one of their media center books. Students may keep one book at a time until June 1, when all books are due. Please start helping your student locate those overdue books.
Every week, students receive an email with a list of their overdue books. We don't charge any fines for overdue books but, if a book can't be located, it must be paid for by the end of the school year. Your student can bring a check or cash (exact change) to the media center, or you can pay for the book through the WCPSS Online Payments feature. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Media Center Volunteers |
Would you like to help out in your child's classroom, chaperone a field trip, or assist at sporting events? All adult volunteers are required to undergo a background check each school year before helping in any capacity at school.
Come to the Media Center to register to be a WCPSS volunteer from 8:00 to 3:00 Monday through Friday. Thanks to everyone for the gift of your time to support our students! |
Can you spare an hour a week? If so, the media center needs your help!
Parent volunteers support the media program in many ways. We are in need of parent volunteers to organize and shelve books, get new materials ready for checkout, and help the Media Center run smoothly. You can plan a time that fits your schedule, come with a friend, or just stop by when you have some free time. Your assistance allows us to focus on teaching, providing a stronger library program for your students. We value our volunteers! |

The media staff is here to help! We can always recommend a great book that will match up to a student's interests, reading level, and needs. Because library materials serve the diverse backgrounds, interests, maturity levels, and reading levels of the entire student body, students should self-select appropriate books for themselves, asking for guidance as needed.
